We have been in Esperance since Saturday 5th March - its a great place to chill and relax .... that is if you do not have to homeschool!! The first couple of days has been a bit stressful - trying to get into the groove of supposedly doing nothing but actually doing heaps!!Anyway we took time out and visited the markets on Sunday - Poppy & Kara headed straight to the animals - picked up a duckling and chick - hoping that we would get it for her as a pet!!?? I said if we did that we would have to have ducky for roast in a month's time!!! No!! She cried - You can't do that?!!
Meet Sammy the local seal who hangs out at the jetty! He/she has been here forever - we remember seeing it the last time we were here about 7 years ago! He/she is HUGE!!! No need to hunt for food - just open its mouth and the fisherman scarps get chucked right into its gob!!
Poppy and I had a race to the end of the jetty - from mid point - she was on the scooter and me on my very unfit fat legs!! It was fun - I actually managed to keep ahead of her but I let her win - true!! That's what a great mum would do!!
Gary took them down the stairs to a lower platform just above the water. Poppy thought it was fabulously exciting!! Had to hang on to her if not she would have jumped in and swam back to shore!!
